OUTPATIENT DEPARTMENT (OPD)
The range of services offered at the outpatient department range from preventive, promotive to curative health care services provided by suitably qualified and experienced health care workers.
The outpatient department has a number of attached service points offering a number of health care services that include;
- General OPD and Emergency care.
- Young child clinic (YCC)/ Immunization clinic
- Antenatal care clinic (ANC) and Postnatal clinic (PNC)
- Skin Clinic
- Eye Clinic
- Dental clinic
- Chronic Care/ HIV clinic
- TB/ Leprosy clinic
- Imaging department
- Orthopedic and physiotherapy.
Young child clinic/ Immunization clinic provides preventive services to children through vaccination against the immunisable diseases. It also offers growth and development monitoring services to the children and on addition it is integrated with other screening, preventive and treatment services. Immunization is held from Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5: 00pm.
The antenatal care clinic monitors mothers and their unborn babies by providing the necessary health care from the time the mothers come to the facility and realize they are pregnant till the time of delivery. It runs from Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5: 00pm and is run by 2 midwives.
The postnatal clinic monitors and ensures that mothers and their newly born babies are in good state of health till 6 weeks after delivery. It is open from Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5: 00pm and managed by 2 midwives.
Skin clinic is run on 3 days of every week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) from 8:00 am to 5: 00pm. It is run by 2 skin specialists.
The eye clinic operates on Fridays of every week 8:00am to 5:00pm run by a visiting eye specialist.
Dental clinic is operated on Wednesdays of every week 8:00am to 5:00pm by 1 dental officer and 1 nurse.
Imaging department provides ultra sound scan services and X- ray services by a radiographer who is available Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
The laboratory offers all diagnostic tests by laboratory technicians Monday to Sunday, 24 hours a day inclusive of public holidays.
Orthopedic clinic is operated by an orthopedic officer who is available Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00pm.
